West of the cities the country turns into what people leave behind: trucks that ran until they didn't, a gas station's propane tank, a car folded into a fence. Nothing here was arranged. It was all just there, in the sun, waiting for someone to stop. ![A truck that has stopped for good.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-05.jpg) A truck that has stopped for good. ![An old Chevrolet, still keeping its shape.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-06.jpg) An old Chevrolet, still keeping its shape. ![The propane tank behind the station.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-07.jpg) The propane tank behind the station. ![Wreckage in the weeds.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-08.jpg) Wreckage in the weeds. ![A junk yard in the sun.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-09.jpg) A junk yard in the sun. ![Something left hanging.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-10.jpg) Something left hanging. ![A painted shack by the highway.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-11.jpg) A painted shack by the highway. ![Sale, on both sides of the door.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-12.jpg) Sale, on both sides of the door. ![Paint on a car that will not move again.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-13.jpg) Paint on a car that will not move again. ![A hat on the dash.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-14.jpg) A hat on the dash. ![The power plant on the edge of town.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/b4/31/b4313ab3-7e6f-4f96-b826-1423fc691a06/content/images/2026/10/jow-film-15.jpg) The power plant on the edge of town.
